The Basics of Third-Party Only Insurance: Essential Information for Kenyan Drivers

What is Third-Party Insurance?
“Third Party Only” insurance is a statutory type of insurance policy that indemnifies the policyholder against any legal liability arising from damage, injury, or death caused to a third party. In Kenya, third-party insurance is mandatory for all motor vehicles. It is the most basic form of insurance you can get and covers liability for bodily injury and property damage caused to a third party by your vehicle. However, it does not provide coverage for your own vehicle’s loss or damage, or injury to your body.
